Outreach

New Hispanic Ministry

Pastor Aaron Putnam at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hayward is spear-heading Lutheran Hispanic ministry in our area, and as a congregation we are providing $5,000 this year in support of that ministry.

We are also helping to provide Jose Zarzosa, our custodian and one of the newer members of our congregation. Jose is presently studying under the leadership of Pastor Putnam to become a deacon.

Language Partners

Wednesday mornings

Pastor Wilson will meet with English Language partners and immigrants wanting to practice their English.  If you are interested in becoming a friend and language partner to an intermediate English language learner, please join us or let Pastor Wilson know of your interest.

God has called everyone – whether it be as a goer or a sender - to be involved in his plan to share his love with people from around the world

A Special Prayer Request

Pastor Sauer, under the ministry umbrella of The Sending Place, will be returning to Thailand in February for another short-term mission trip.

His team will be working with about 55 children living in a Christian center built in response to girls being sold into prostitution in that part of the world. They will conduct leadership workshops for Christian leaders in the area, and they will evangelize in Buddhist villages in surrounding communities.

(Thailand is less than 1% Christian and over 95% Buddhist.) To help fund this mission trip for Pastor Sauer, a special mission support offering will taken on Sunday, January 10.

Mike Squires is in Togo

with Wycliffe.  He leads workshops in spiritual leadership alongside a literacy program and community development projects.

"The Gospel is advanced when we meet the needs of the people. We now have 500 people in the literacy program…some 100 farmers are learning how to improve their agriculture without chemical fertilizers and groups of women are participating in health and sanitation classes.”
